Job DescriptionJob Title: Accountant – Senior or Semi-Senior
The role will be a mix of accounting, audit, tax, and business services. The candidate will also be required, at times, to assist in training junior members of the practice, helping to develop their skill sets and expand their responsibilities accordingly.
Experience with software including IRIS Accountancy Suite and bookkeeping platforms such as Sage, Xero, KashFlow, QuickBooks, and IRIS (or similar) is desirable. Candidates will have an advantage if they have experience or an understanding of audit work and CaseWare Audit software.
Overall Purpose of the JobTo prepare and audit (as part of a team) accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders to review stage; to undertake business support services; and to train junior staff.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare accounts from client records and present them to the relevant partner, including statutory accounts preparation.
Undertake or assist with audits of small to medium-sized companies and groups.
Carry out business support work, including preparation of management accounts, bookkeeping reviews, VAT returns, MTD submissions, and assisting clients with related matters.
Process personal tax returns and review returns prepared by junior staff.
Complete ad hoc tax work as required.
Resolve clients’ accounting issues and reconcile accounts.
Maintain and develop client relationships.
Identify further client service opportunities.
Supervise and train junior members of staff as required.
Undertake any other reasonable tasks as necessary.
