Your new company
You'll be joining a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice with a strong presence in the Surrey market. The firm combines the stability and breadth of work you would expect from a long-standing practice with a genuinely personal approach to both its clients and its people. With a varied client base and expertise spanning accounts, audit, tax, outsourcing and wider business advisory work, there is plenty of opportunity to broaden your experience rather than becoming too narrowly specialised. The firm places real emphasis on long-term client relationships, practical advice and giving its people the opportunity to develop their careers.
Your new role
This is a flexible opportunity that can be shaped around your existing experience, whether you are part-qualified and looking for your next step, approaching qualification, or recently ACA/ACCA qualified and ready for more responsibility. You'll work with a varied portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for a mixture of year-end accounts and associated compliance work, while developing increasingly direct relationships with clients.Depending on your background and interests, there may also be the opportunity to gain or continue exposure to audit, management accounts, corporate tax and broader advisory assignments. As you progress, you'll have scope to take greater ownership of assignments, support more junior colleagues and become increasingly involved in client management.
What you'll need to succee
dYou'll already have relevant experience within a UK accountancy practice and be comfortable preparing accounts for a range of clients. You could be studying towards ACA or ACCA, close to qualification or recently qualified. More important is that you are looking to develop beyond straightforward accounts preparation and enjoy building good relationships with clients.Experience of audit would be useful but is not essential for someone whose strengths are primarily accounts-focused.You'll be someone who is organised, personable and confident communicating with clients, with a genuine interest in continuing to develop technically and professionally.
What you'll get in return
There is a broad £30,000 - £60,000 salary range, allowing the firm to consider candidates at different stages of their qualification and career. You'll also benefit from hybrid working, flexible working arrangements and potential part-time options, alongside the opportunity to develop within an established independent practice where there is genuine breadth to the work. For someone part-qualified, this could provide the experience and support needed to move towards qualification and Senior level. Equally, a recently qualified accountant can take on more client responsibility and start building towards the next stage of their career.
