Accountant - Investment Banking. Our client is a specialised investor and lender dedicated to supporting UK SMEs. Over the past three years, their dynamic team of 10 highly motivated professionals has successfully built a portfolio exceeding £100 million across 16 promising companies. With ambitious plans for growth, they aim to expand their portfolio to over £500 million by mid-2026.
They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join their team. This multifaceted role will involve serving as the financial backbone for their business, reporting directly to the COO, and providing essential financial oversight for select SMEs within their portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate financial records for the company.
Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for the COO and other stakeholders.
Manage budgeting, cash flow, and financial planning processes.
Bookkeeping:
Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
SME Portfolio Oversight:
Collaborate with portfolio companies to monitor and assess their financial health.
Assist in developing financial strategies for portfolio companies to drive growth.
Conduct periodic financial reviews and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay abreast of financial regulations and ensure compliance for both the company and portfolio companies.
Coordinate with external auditors as necessary.
Communication and Collaboration:
Work closely with the COO and other stakeholders to align financial strategies with overall business goals.
Liaise with portfolio company finance teams to foster effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
Proficient in XERO (Mandatory)
Proven experience in bookkeeping.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Remuneration:
Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 (DOE).
Flexible working options 1 or 2 days in office a week
Hours 9am-6pm.
6 weeks holiday.
1 or 2 days a month visiting investment company's all over the country.
