Job Title: Warehouse Operator
Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:30
Rate: £13.00 per hour
Role Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and focused Warehouse Operator to join our team in Sittingbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking and packing orders, using a handheld scanner gun for accuracy, and assisting with general warehouse operations including some heavy lifting. This is a full-time role involving a standard working week Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
* Use a scanner gun to pick items accurately and efficiently from stock.
* Pack orders to meet quality and delivery standards.
* Unload, load and move stock around the warehouse as required (some heavy lifting involved).
* Ensure warehouse location and stock records are kept up to date and accurate.
* Maintain a clean, safe, organised working environment and adhere to health & safety guidelines.
* Work as part of the team to ensure orders are processed and dispatched on time.
* Assist with stock counts, replenishment and general warehouse duties as required.
* Report any issues, damages or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
* Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment, with picking and packing duties.
* Proven experience using a handheld scanner or barcode scanning system.
* Physically able to perform manual tasks, including lifting, carrying and moving stock.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
* Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
* Able to commit to the Monday to Friday 08:00-17:30 schedule.
Desirable:
* Prior experience of working with stock control or warehouse management systems.
* Experience with heavy lifting or forklift/truck operations (though not essential).
* Knowledge of general warehouse health & safety practices.
