Our thriving and diverse secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a reliable, proactive, and skilled School Caretaker to join our site team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality across the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the school site
Ensure the school is safe, secure, and well-presented at all times
Oversee opening and closing of the building, including alarm systems
Support with health & safety checks, compliance, and record-keeping
Undertake minor plumbing, electrical, and DIY tasks
Liaise with contractors and support site-related projects
Assist with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and general porterage
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in maintenance, caretaking, or a similar facilities role
Practical, hands-on, and able to use initiative
Professional, trustworthy, and committed to high standards
Able to work independently and as part of a friendly site team
Knowledgeable about health & safety procedures (training can be provided)
Flexible and willing to support the smooth running of the school
