The Role
As an R&D Engineer, you’ll join a small, agile team of engineers and technologists developing next-generation energy storage systems. You’ll lead experiments, design test rigs, and help transform cutting-edge concepts into commercially viable products. This is a rare opportunity to combine academic rigour with practical application and your work will directly contribute to the UK’s net-zero future.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and running lab experiments to validate and improve product performance
- Building and automating test rigs
- Collaborating across R&D, software, and product teams to bring ideas to life
- Interpreting test data to inform design decisions and product improvements
- Creating CAD models and engineering drawings for prototyping and production
- Supporting the full development cycle from concept to commercial readiness
About You
- Degree-qualified in Engineering
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable switching between desk and hands-on work
- Confident with SolidWorks
- Familiar with, or keen to learn CFD tools
- Excellent communicator with a sharp eye for detail and a collaborative mindset
