Senior Quantity Surveyor

A dedicated new-build housing division of a large PLC construction company are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them in Welwyn Garden City.

The role

You will office based with site visits to schemes within Hertfordshire (2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days out on site)

The company currently has 2 schemes in Hertfordshire - 1 is 24 new build houses and 1 is 40 new build houses

You will be working on new build housing schemes

Within this role, you will be responsible for all commercial functions of the contracts allocated; issuing contractual notices and communications both up and down stream, reporting monthly against budgets and ensuring subcontractors are paid at the appropriate times.

You will prepare and submit external valuations where appropriate on a regular basis to ensure the company receive full payment for works and will also meet and/or exceed budgets/targets set at the commencement of the project.

The right person

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a minimum of 5 years contracting experience (10 years’ experience overall) and you should have worked at Senior Surveyor level before. With commercial acumen, you will also have an understanding of forms of Contracts (JCT, PPC etc) along with strong Excel skills.

Although not essential, a professional qualification coupled with a commercial background would be beneficial.
