Assistant Cost Planner

A tier 1 contractor are looking for an Assistant Cost Planner to join their committed team

The cost planning team are held in high regard and the role is key to the successful value management of potential public sector construction projects

The role

You will be office based 2-3 days a week with client meetings

You will be involved in 2 schemes at a time

The scope of the role will focus on developing cost plans, cost management, negotiating with consultants, suppliers and subcontractors ensuring bid budgets are robustly formulated and achieved, facilitating value engineering works shops and informing design teams on affordability

Working within the commercial department with specific cost planning expertise you will make a real contribution tot he success of the group and profitability from the start

The department are involved in national procurement framework with primary responsibilities of facilitating bids, administering framework protocols and bidding for new framework opportunities.

They are currently concentrating on the education sector

The right person Cost Planner

You will be a committed individual and innovative individual with Cost Planning and / or Quantity Surveying / Estimating experience with a strong knowledge of construction methodology

You will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Cost Planning, Quantity Surveying or Estimator role
