Description

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Department: Finance & Admin

Reports to: Finance Manager

Based in: Fleet

Job Purpose Summary: Responsible for supporting the finance team’s daily activities, ensuring correct allocation of sales receipts, bank reconciliations, communication of money received, chasing overdue invoices, processing direct debits

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

*

Ensure all sales receipts are allocated correctly against invoices daily and recorded in Sage, across 3 group companies

*

Daily bank account & Netbanx reconciliations (multiple accounts)

*

Other balance sheet reconciliations

*

Handle & resolve queries raised by the sales team

*

Notifying the sales team of money received

*

Raising and marking paid direct debit invoices

*

Setting up direct debits on CVL and Debit Finance and amendments

*

Chasing outstanding direct debits and other client invoices with sales team and directly with clients

*

Assisting the Finance Manager and Assistant Accountant with any ad hoc duties

Personal Requirements

*

Previous experience of working in a similar position minimum 1 year

*

Studying towards an accounting qualification, minimum AAT Level 3 required

*

Knowledge and experience of Sage 50

*

Excellent communication and attention to detail

*

Be able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines

*

Have a flexible and adaptable nature
